Vintage Heywood-Wakefield Mid-Century Modern Highboy Dresser, c. 1950s A stunning example of American Mid-Century Modern craftsmanship, this five-drawer highboy dresser by the celebrated Heywood-Wakefield Company is a true Atomic Age classic. Heywood-Wakefield introduced its Streamline Modern furniture in the 1930s, and the buoyantly bright blond maple — with softly contoured edges and artful drawer pulls — became the defining look of the brand for decades. This piece showcases all of those hallmarks: beautifully grained solid maple, gracefully rounded corners, sculpted recessed drawer pulls, and the signature splayed legs that give it that unmistakable mid-century stance. Measuring 36”W × 20”D × 44”H, it offers generous storage across five deep drawers that glide open smoothly and effortlessly. The piece is finished in Heywood-Wakefield’s classic Wheat colorway — a warm, honey-toned blonde that highlights the natural maple grain beautifully and pairs easily with a wide range of interiors. The piece presents very well overall, with the finish largely intact. The top shows a small number of light surface scratches consistent with age and use, fully visible and disclosed in the photos. The body, sides, corners, and base are all in excellent vintage condition. Heywood-Wakefield furnishings are now considered highly desirable collectibles, sought after by designers and collectors alike for their quality construction and timeless aesthetic. Estimated Fair Market Value: $600–$900
