Vintage Lane “Virginia Maid” Mid-Century Modern Walnut Cedar Chest, c. 1950s–60s A stunning example of Lane Furniture’s iconic Virginia Maid cedar chest, crafted in Altavista, Virginia. The exterior features gorgeous book-matched walnut veneer with boldly sculpted bi-fold door panels, a curved base stretcher, and tapered legs with original foot caps — quintessential mid-century modern design at its finest. Measuring 47”W × 18½”D × 21½”H, this is a generously sized chest with excellent storage capacity. The exterior is in near-pristine condition with one small watermark on the rear left corner of the top, fully disclosed and visible in photos. The interior is lined entirely in aromatic red cedar and includes the original fitted tray with green felt lining. Comes complete with the original key and the original Virginia Maid moth damage guarantee label still intact inside. The Virginia Maid cedar chest is synonymous with mid-century modern American design, and examples in this condition with original hardware and key are increasingly hard to find. Estimated Fair Market Value: $600–$900
